Muscian Information
The Shovel Handle Pub prides itself in selecting some of the best musicians in New England. Please read about some of them below...
Eric Erskine immediately eases the soul into his calming sea of music. Combining elements of pop, folk and rock, Eric delivers songs that can elicit emotions, provoke the mind, or just relax the body. With a unique vocal and writing style Eric takes the listener on a musical journey with varied but integrated themes and musical styles. In early 1997 Eric began working with acclaimed musician, singer/songwriter and producer Tom Dean. From the very beginning it was apparent that Dean’s production style was a perfect fit for Erskine’s songwriting. With Tom’s guidance, Eric progressed both as a songwriter and musician. Their efforts would come to fruition with the release of Eric’s highly anticipated “November” CD in 2000. Over the past eight years Erskine has teamed up with Dean to release 3 more albums. “Still Life” and “Digital Age” received rave reviews and helped Eric stand out as a singer/songwriter. Eric’s latest CD “Thinking Out Loud” was released in late 2007. Eric recently won “Best Male Vocal Performance of The Year at the 2008 Los Angeles Music Awards. www.ericerskine.com

has performed solo (acoustic guitar, vocal, harmonica) in New England for more years than he cares to admit, and also in Nashville at clubs such as The Bluebird Cafe and Gibson's. He recently went "international" by playing a beach wedding in Aruba! His sound blends folk, rock, country and a bit of blues, a/k/a Americana these days. Please give it a listen at the "music" section of his web site, www.timothygurshin.com. There's lots of streaming, hi-fidelity audio, video and pictures to check out-- and feel free to drop him a line. www.timothygurshin.com
Anni Clark... If you asked Anni Clark's Mom, she'd probably tell you that Anni started singing as soon as she opened her mouth. She wrote her first song when she was about five... something about "saving the world with music." Years later, Anni has toured all of the eastern states, most of the southwest, released 7 recordings, and shared stages with performers like Shawn Colvin, Richie Havens, & Dar Williams to name a few. Blending folk, pop, and blues with “a dash of Maine hue-mah, Anni’s performances are sure to please audiences of all ages. www.anniclark.com
Jon Sarty
New England singer/songwriter Jonathan Sarty has performed regionally and throughout New England over the last decade. Perhaps most well known as the leader of his band the White Mountain Boys, Sarty has a wide range of material consisting mainly of classic American music from old time country and honky tonk to soul, gospel, and rhythm and blues.
Sarty’s original music stands alone. Lyrically not one word is without purpose. Though strongly influenced by his predecessors in American music history Sarty’s songs have a flavor all their own, with intelligent arrangements driven by solid guitarwork.
Following the release of his debut all original CD in 2006 featuring the talents of the White Mountain Boys, Sarty led his group to greater success and made appearances throughout Nashville at several well known Nashville Venues. Sarty and his band were invited to participate in Nashville’s Country Music Fanfare as guests at the Fan Fare Exhibition Hall.
